We sometimes get asked if our cards can be detected by airport metal detectors. As stainless steel is a ferrous metal, it can be detected by airport scanners.

Allergic Reactions

Stainless steel 316 contains large amounts of chromium and nickel for its corrosion resistance. If you find you have a skin sensitivity towards nickel, you might consider using one of our coated cards so you don’t have a contact dermatitis problem.

Does Wave Card have a power source?

Wave Card contains no power source, so there are no batteries to worry about. Instead, we use Near Field Communication to send data to a device. It works by sending vibrating waves to interact with the Radio Frequency Identification chip in your card.

QR Code

If your NFC tag fails for whatever reason, you can still communicate your Wave Card link using the QR code on the back of the card.

Using the QR code

IOS Device

All IOS devices have a QR code reader built into their camera applications. To use it open your camera app and tap on the QR code on your device.

Android

Some Android have a QR code reader automatically built into their camera application. However, if your phone does not come to have this reader software pre-installed, there are plentiful third-party QR code reader apps.

Desktop

An NFC reader can be purchased as a PC peripheral. This device can interact with our technology.
